FRONTLINEdance
was founded by Rachael Lines and Michael King in September 2000, and
formally became a not-for-profit company Ltd by Guarantee, in November
2001. We
provide opportunities and access to a range of dance activities to all
ages and abilities striving to target those who would not normally have
the opportunity to take part. We
are currently delivering extensive outreach work
to primary and special schools, a Further Education unit for pupils with
a disability, a pupil referral unit (excluded from mainstream education,
the Play Council (deprived areas) and a group of young disabled adults
living in S-O-T. We delivered dance workshops and performances to over 4,000 during 2004 and are work mainly takes place in in S-O-T and Staffordshire reaching out to the whole of the West Midlands and other regions through performance work. Last
years projects were a fantastic achievement. Our
performance project allowed the creation of two new pieces of work,
which was then delivered to eight venues. Along side this project, we delivered a very exciting dance-in-education project ‘INCLUSION2’ to 37 schools and venues in Staffordshire benefiting 2,465 participants and audience members. We
have 7 members on our committee, up to 16
freelance self employed artists and between 1 – 15 volunteers,
all on a project basis. We work nationally, but mainly in
Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire and regionally in the West
Midlands. Our annual report is available on request. 2006 looks set to be a very exciting year - watch this space! |
