Experience the art of dance through participation and performance
Throughout 2004, FRONTLINEdance delivered dance workshops and live performances to schools and venues throughout Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
"The piece set out to explore our differences, not just the obvious, but the different ways we feel, think, move, dream, the conflict that arises when you may feel fragile but all around you is chaos, or vice versa. I tried to use a range of subtle or sometimes dramatic exchanges of weight and pressure to convey these thoughts and feelings" Kuldip Singh-Barmi, Choreographer
It toured to 37 venues benefiting over 2,400 pupils, teachers and audience members from a variety of primary, secondary & special schools, further education institutes, drama groups took part and included a one-off performance at a special showcase in what we believe to have been a valueable, exciting and inspiring dance project.
Hundred of pupils got to perform in front of their peers in a structred supportive way increasing their self-esteem and confidence. The FRONTLINEdance team also enjoyed the rewarding experience of performing to an encapsulated audience.
"The performance was sensitive, exciting and professional. 300 children were spell bound for the whole session." Ash Green Primary
"The performance was pitched at the right level and appealed to all children." Goldenhill Primary
